Russell Pearson is an educator and technologist whose work focuses on how emerging technologies are reshaping learning, decision-making, and society. His professional work centers on helping educators and institutions understand both the opportunities and challenges created by artificial intelligence in education.

One of the possibilities he finds most compelling is the potential for truly personalized learning—technology that can help educators meet students where they are, adapt to their individual needs, and support different paths to understanding. While technology will never replace the role of teachers, Russell believes it can help create learning environments that are more responsive, inclusive, and supportive of student growth.

Through workshops and consulting, he works with faculty and institutional teams to explore practical ways to integrate AI tools responsibly while maintaining the core goals of education: curiosity, critical thinking, and human judgment.

Russell is also the author of The Missing Variable, the first novel in The PREDICT Trilogy, a speculative thriller exploring the consequences of predictive artificial intelligence in the justice system. The series reflects many of the questions he explores in his professional work—how technological systems influence human choices and what happens when society places too much trust in prediction.

Outside of his professional work, Russell is interested in sustainable living and small-space design. He is currently developing a tiny living project that explores how thoughtful design and a closer relationship with nature can support simpler, more intentional ways of living. His interest in sustainability is also reflected in his nature photography.
